In 2006 W+D was awarded the architectural commission to design anddocument this integrated commercial building on Queenslands Gold Coast. Located on Lake Orr Drive in Robina is thisiconic new waterfront business development situated on Bermuda Street opposite Bond University and is a part of the expanding Varsity Lakes Precinct.
Stage 2 is scheduled to be complete in winter, 2008. The plaza level comprises approx. 800sm of retail space with 12,000sm of combined leasedand strata office units above.
After obtaining statutory approvals, Woodhouse + Danks proceeded with documentation on a fast track basis thereby affording the developer an earlier completion date and an improved ROI.
Working with the development team, Woodhouse + Danks has designed the largest commercial project in Bathurst to date. The Mount Panorama Resort boasts 65 motel style track-side units and 70 Mountain View units.
Designed with a 400-seat restaurant and bar, 450-person capacity function room, tennis courts and a day spa, the MPR will be a one of a kind development alongside the racetrack of the famous Bathurst 1000 race.
The resort is built over 7 storeys. With various high-speed construction systems used for the walls and floors the construction time for the buildingstructure was reduced by half.
W+D were also commissioned to do the interior design, furniture andfurnishings procurement to deliver the 5 star accommodations rating for the development. On completion, the resort will be a landmark success forBathurst and for the architectural team at Woodhouse + Danks.
Rockspray is a three-apartment development on the shore of SydneyHarbour. The building is located on a relatively narrow site and consists of 3 levels, with each apartment occupying one full level.
The restricted frontage width generated the use of two stacker garagesand two standard garages to enable off street parking for 6 cars in thisbusy beachside area.
With views to the southeast andrestricted solar access to thenarrow site the various apartmentlevels are designed to each have asunny north facing privatecourtyard as well as share thespectacular views of SydneyHarbour.

Building alterations and additions comprise a 1-storey addition with public facilities at ground level with spacious terraces overlooking the greens andthe natural landscape.
The ground floor addition includes new Bowlers Bar, Bar Lounge and aFunction Room. Locker rooms, Function Kitchen, Green Keepers Store,additional sanitary facilities and open, external, recreational Terraces.
The project idea is conceptualized as a new facade in the rear side of the existing building, which can be interpreted as an alteration that encouragesthe completeness and integrates the whole form of the Bowling Club.
The interior is designed as a broad flexible space that is able toaccommodate different kinds of activities and events without disturbing themain functions of the Club.
Terraces and aluminum louvers give a fine ambience of light andventilation accomplishes the link between internal and external spaces.
The materials chosen for the bar and lounge areas are selected to providea modern appearance and incorporate good characteristics for durationand maintenance as well as a familiar feel to the colour palate.
